It’s tough to get patients to stay on track. 80% of all patients forget their doctor’s instructions within ten minutes of hearing them, and often leave your office unclear about the directions you’ve given them. If they don’t follow your instructions, they’re likely to end up back in your office, or worse, the emergency room, before their next scheduled appointment.

Here’s how we work with you:

Designing a proven health program.

GenerationOne integrates an approved medical program, based on your patient’s medical condition, into the GenerationOne health phone or compatible phone. We work with medical institutions, such as the University of Miami, to develop and refine scripts and protocols that are proven to be effective at managing chronic illness and promoting behavior change.

Reminders and alerts.

The purpose of these programs is to remind your patient about the things they need to do and to guide them in the best way to manage their condition or to promote wellness. Your patients will receive simple reminders on their mobile phone asking them to take medications and conduct prescribed activities. When it is time to test blood or take medication, the phone alerts them and provides the instructions of what to do, including images of the medication shown on the phone. Test results from monitoring devices are wirelessly transmitted to the cell phone, assuring accurate results. The patient may be asked a series of questions that they can answer either by pressing buttons or through an interactive voice response system. If the patient has a serious condition, at times he may be asked additional questions that will help further assess his current health status. Your patients will also have one-touch access to call you and other caregivers, with pre-programmed speed dials.

Ongoing personalized health assessment.

The GenerationOne technology collects and analyzes both the information provided by the patient and the data that is wirelessly collected from medical devices, such as Bluetooth-enabled glucometers, scales, and blood pressure cuffs. The results are transmitted to our database and can alert you if the information seems to indicate a possible medical issue. You can then take whatever action you deem appropriate, whether it is calling the patient, or going online to change their prescription. Alerts can also be sent to the GenerationOne Nursing Center, or to other caregivers as well, or the patient can be instructed to call your office to talk with you or schedule an appointment.

Staying Connected to The Community of Care.

The information collected is also stored in an online Personal Health Record for each patient. When you log on to the PHR, you will get a special “view” of the system that shows you all the patients under your care who are using our solution. If any of the patients have recently received alerts, these will be highlighted for you. You can choose to view individual patients’ records simply by clicking through to their personal page.

The PHR will capture and display the information collected on the cell phone, as well as information from other EMRs and lab results. As a health professional, you will also have the ability to enter test results or update medical information. The PHR will provide you with a complete, ongoing picture of your patients’ health status.

24/7 Support and Emergency Help: Your patients also have access to our 24-hour nursing call center. The nurses can view the PHR, and can answer questions about our solution or yourmedical data. This additional back-up provides the patient with a first-line resource to tap into with questions or concerns.
